National Volunteer Week 2013

National Volunteer Week is celebrated at the John’s Island Regional Library! We adore our volunteers and so to show our thanks and appreciation, we created handmade beaded bracelets and scarfs for our faithful crew of dedicated volunteers. Thank you to all of those volunteers out in the community making our lives better each and every day!

Join us for John’s Island: A Moment in Time

Saturday, April 27 at 4 p.m.

The John’s Island Regional Library presents a screening of the short film “John’s Island: A Moment in Time,” created by the Kiawah Island Photography Club. The film tells the story of John’s Island from its beginnings to the present time, with a narrative, music, and images captured by club members. At the conclusion of the film several club members will give a short presentation on the club’s project to document the island in photos, the process of developing the film and its companion book, the methods used to produce them, and the club’s objectives in creating these productions. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Tax Help is Available at John’s Island Library

AARP Free Income Tax Preparation 

Saturdays, February 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Free income tax preparation and electronic filing will be offered by AARP volunteers through April 14. A current picture ID and Social Security card are required, along with the Social Security cards of any dependents. First come, first served with the last person accepted at 1 p.m. Assistance in Spanish will be available.
